We believe that Christ is the Head of His Church; WBC is not ours to control but His to direct. We are committed to following and working alongside Christ as the Spirit leads us.

We believe both Old and New Testaments to be the inspired Word of God and the final authority in all matters of faith and practice. God’s Word always comes first. We strive to teach God’s Word gracefully; encouraging obedience toward full maturity in Him.

We believe that pursuing full devotion to Jesus Christ is essential for every believer. Such devotion includes giving and tithing, stewardship, servanthood, growing spiritual maturity and use of spiritual gifts. Because God has uniquely gifted individuals for a specific ministry, we are committed to empowering men and women to become a unified servant community.

 

Servant Leadership Based

We believe the mission, vision and values of our church should be given strong leadership by those God has set apart as leaders. Our leaders give evidence of growing spiritual maturity and active involvement in the life and ministry of the WBC community. Our leaders build solid, trusting relationships with our congregation and foster a Spirit-led team environment.

We are responsive to needs both local and global and are

sensitive to those who are seeking God

 

Mission Minded

We believe that mission should start local and go global. God has called us to serve our neighbours as individuals and our town as a community of servants as we move into the world.

 

People Sensitive

We believe that people matter to God. Therefore, it is important for us to discern the needs of our surrounding community and respond by praying for those in need, especially those who don’t know Christ. We are committed to imitate Jesus Christ and remain sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s leading to share our relationship with Christ.

We seek to strengthen families, worship as a family, respond as a family

and be a family through building supportive relationships.

We believe we are called to celebrate God’s supreme glory through praise and worship in our personal lives and in our congregational life. We are committed to worship as the central corporate expression speaking to and unifying our faith community.

We believe in strengthening and protecting the relationships within marriage, the family and the extended family.

 

Relationally Focused

We believe God has called us to build a community of faith that appropriately cares for, encourages and challenges one another. We place a high priority on small group participation.

We believe that in our gatherings visitors are welcome. We seek to place the needs of those new among us on par with our own.
