  • The WBC family is committed to assisting one another in the discovery, deployment and development of our spiritual gifts - afteral, Gifts is one of our 5 G's!  In addition to personal encouragement and experimenting in a variety of ministries to determine your unique place in the body, we offer the NETWORK Ministry training course to provide further assistance.  Speak to Pastor Ross about the next training opportunity so you can serve in a way that will be faithful, fruitful and fulfilling.

     

    There are opportiunites for you to use your gifts in the many ministries identified in "Connnection Points" and here in "Community Service". 

     

    In Whitby Baptist, we believe that one of the ways that the Holy Spirit leads us is through the gifts He gives and how those gifts are made available for service.  While we have a variety of ministries taking place within our church, they are led and developed as the Spirit provides the gifting. We try very hard not recruit people to "fill positions" like pounding a square peg in a round hole, but to instead help you match God's gifting in you to the opportunites we have, or, to help develop whatever new and exciting ministry that allows you to serve out of your passion with your God-given gifts.

     

    If you don't see something in the life of our church that will help you grow in your walk with Christ, or to serve Him fully, speak to one of our Pastoral Staff, Ross Carkner or Jim Alford, and they will be glad to help you.

    Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it 1 Cor.12:7

     

     

    The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ.  1 Cor. 12:12

     

     

    … we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ. 16From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work. Eph. 4:16

     

     

    For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.  Eph.3:14-19
