Men & Women's Groups

  • Men 4 Ministry

An activity based ministry advertised in the WBC Sunday bulletin and by e-mail. Men of all ages and their friends are welcome.

Men of all ages gather monthly over breakfast or event to share how Christ makes Himself known to us in our daily living and to encourage one another to serve Him faithfully and wholeheartedly.

As opportunities present themselves this ministry undertakes physical projects that help those in need, as well as maintenance needs in and around the church building.  Whether painting, basic construction, electrical work or the like, our men are seeking to make an impact as a team for Christ.

Our mentoring program “One on One” is currently under development and will seek to support and challenge one another in becoming fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ in our character and relationships as well as our studies, jobs and neighbourhoods.

  • Whitby Baptist Women

Whitby Baptist Women functions as a group within the Baptist Women of Ontario and Quebec and the Trent Valley Association of Baptist Women.  Every woman in our church has a significant part in WBW and is welcome at our meetings. Our purpose is to reach others for Christ, and our mission emphasis defines that purpose. WBW meets to encourage each other in love and friendship, pray about issues and situations facing women today, and contribute financially to mission projects that show Christ’s love in pragmatic ways all around the world.

WBW serves our congregation when needs arise and actively supports the endeavours of younger women in our church. The Link and Visitor magazine provides inspiration and stimulation for mission awareness, and excellent Christian literature is available through our Reading Course books.  Paige Byrne-Mamahit, serving in Indonesia, is our VitaLink partner.

Meetings: Fourth Tuesday of each month at 7:45 pm in Room 1 on the lower level.

    Blessings Needlecraft

Everyone is welcome to join us for a time to work on our crafts.....knitting, sewing, crocheting, cross-stitching, rug hooking, quilting, etc.  If you want to learn a craft, please let us know and we're sure someone present will be able to help you.  Please join us even if you'd like to just sit & have a coffee or a chat.

Each week we have a devotional time and prayer time.

We meet every Wednesday morning, from 9 to 11am, in Room #9.

We will not be meeting for July & August, but look forward to welcoming everyone back September 8, 2010.

    Women 4 Women

W4W is a ministry to women, by women, for women, which incorporates sharing, caring, praying and mentoring as core values. As we connect with women in our church, we also seek to connect with God.

Events are designed & scheduled to accommodate the busyness of today’s school age, working and retired women and include an Annual Ladies Retreat held exclusively for WBC women of all ages and their friends. There is also Craft and Chat, Sister 2 Sister and a variety of Fellowship events such as pot-luck lunches, scrap booking & card making evenings run alongside ongoing mutual care and support, as well as responding in practical ways to women we know who are in need.

  • Annual Retreat

Are you ready for some exciting changes to the W4W 2010 Ladies' Fall Retreat?

Yes, we'll still have the fabulous music, great theme and speaker, relaxing, informative and enjoyable sessions, and wonderful fellowship, but now at a new location: Fair Havens Conference and Retreat Centre near Beaverton. We've outgrown our previous location and having the retreat at Fair Havens allows us to invite even more of our friends and family for an inspiring and uplifting weekend.

The retreat will run from the morning of Sat. Oct. 2 until after dinner on Sun. Oct. 3.

Come and enjoy a time of learning, sharing, growing, singing, and much more as we delve into our theme 'Captivating' (based on the book by John & Staci Eldredge) led by our theme speaker, Cindy Campbell. The registration fee is $125 (payment options are available).

  • Craft and Chat

Women of all ages are invited to come on the 3rd Sat. of each month at 9:45 a.m. to enjoy a craft time (making cards), refreshments, and then a dvd study series from 11 to noon. Come for the craft time, come for the study time or come for both. Whichever you choose, we'd love to have you!

    Sister 2 Sister

Women need women...and through the Sister2Sister ministry we have the opportunity to either be the one who needs an encouraging word, a listening ear or someone to lift us up, or to be the 'Big Sister' -- the one who will listen, encourage and support.
