Opportunities

  • Prayer Chain

Prayer is critical to all we do, and a vital link to God as we grow in our relationship with Jesus Christ. The prayer chain is a confidential means by which people can share specific prayer requests, knowing they will be prayed for by caring people. Interested in joining a team of ‘prayer warriors’ who have made prayer their ministry priority?

  • Pre-Service Prayer Time

There is also opportunity to gather for prayer in preparation for our Sunday morning services of worship. This is a time when we are able to pray for individuals and familes as households prepare to gather together with others in worship. Preparation for worship so important! We can also be in prayer for those who are giving their gifts in worship leadership, playing instruments, singning and speaking. Join in each and every Sunday morning in the Library (Room #8) starting at 9:15 am.

  • Inter-Church Immigrant Support Group

The community of Whitby is increasginly finding itself as a first haven for people landing in Canada from other countries. While they often come with skills our country needs, they lack the necessary credentialling that our government requires.  While they are being re-trained, they need help finding a place to stay, getting their children into school, assistance with English, transportation, navigating our social services network, finding gently used furniture at little or no cost.

    • Property Committee

To be good stewards of all that God gives us starts at home and flows out of the heart of our Church ministry.  In addition to encouraging good stewardship and tithing on a personal level, we also need to make sure that our building and grounds are ready and able to be used for the very things that God is seeking to do in and through our community.  Our building is used on a regular basis by several ‘outside’ groups.

Opportunities for ministry include capital purchases, building repair and management.  We make a huge difference when we allow ourselves and all we have to be available to God for His use.

      Passionate about building related issues?

    • Sunday Morning Worship

We are here to worship God, and that worship begins with hearts surrendered in praise. Our Worship Team is actively involved in planning and leading our Sunday morning services of worship.  There are people committed to praising God through singing, playing instruments, operating the computer & projector, looking after the sound system, cataloguing and storing sheet music, scheduling, and ordering supplies. Other important activities such as communion preparation, ushering, and greeting are also necessary in the development of our worship. Passionate about worship?

Opportunities to use your gifts related to the leading of worship abound.  Teams are always being assembled and new people are more than welcome.  We encourage musicians, readers, dramatists, singers and the administratively minded to allow their passion for worship to be expressed through their gifts.
